About the Institution
The Federal Polytechnic, Bali, is a government-approved institution established on March 14, 2007, following the approval of the Federal Executive Council. The school was strategically developed to expand access to technical and vocational education in Taraba State and beyond. The Federal Ministry of Education inaugurated a Ministerial Task Force led by Dr. Nuru Yakubu, former Executive Secretary of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), to ensure its early commencement. With vital support from the Taraba State Government and the Bali Local Government Authority, the Polytechnic received generous donations including buildings and a 500-hectare land along the Bali–Jalingo Road, designated as its permanent site.
Position Overview
Federal Polytechnic, Bali is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Senior Lecturer in the Department of Fishery Technology. This role is ideal for experienced academic professionals with a solid background in fishery science, teaching, and research, who are also active contributors to the academic community through publications and professional engagements.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet one of the following academic and professional qualifications:
Option 1: Master’s Degree Pathway
Candidates must possess a relevant Master’s degree, supported by a minimum of 12 years of post-qualification teaching, research, or industrial work experience. They must have published at least three journal articles, delivered three conference or seminar papers, and contributed two chapters to reputable academic textbooks.
Option 2: Doctorate Degree Pathway
Applicants with a PhD in a relevant field must have at least nine years of post-PhD academic or industry experience. They must also have at least three peer-reviewed journal publications and four seminar/conference papers to their credit.
Professional Membership
All candidates must be registered members of a recognized professional body in the field of fisheries or a related discipline. This is a compulsory requirement.

Interested candidates are required to submit ten (10) hard copies of their written application. Each application must include a duly signed and dated Curriculum Vitae, containing detailed academic qualifications, employment history, publications, and other relevant information. Applicants must also include the names and contact details of three referees. At least one of these referees must be the current or most recent employer (preferably the Chief Executive), who can vouch for the applicant’s academic competence, professional capability, and character.
