Location: Lokogoma, Abuja, FCT
Reports to: Managing Director
Salary: ₦200,000 – ₦250,000 (Net Monthly)
Work Schedule: 9 AM – 5 PM, Mondays to Saturdays

As part of our growth, we are seeking a highly skilled Finance and Accounts Officer to manage our financial operations, strengthen compliance, and provide strategic financial insights to support company decision-making.

Job Summary

The Finance and Accounts Officer will take full ownership of the accounting and finance function within the company. The role involves managing the full accounting cycle, preparing accurate financial reports, implementing ERP systems (preferably Odoo), ensuring compliance with Nigerian tax regulations, and advising management on financial strategy. The ideal candidate will be an experienced finance professional with strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a proven track record in managing finances within a production or manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accounting & Financial Management

    • Oversee the entire accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and reconciliations.

    • Prepare and maintain monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with regulatory and company requirements.

    • Manage budgets, monitor cash flow, and ensure timely billing and collection of receivables.

  • ERP & Systems Implementation

    • Lead the rollout and daily utilization of accounting/ERP software, with preference for Odoo.

    • Ensure financial data integrity, automation, and process optimization through digital tools.

  • Compliance & Regulations

    • Ensure compliance with all statutory obligations including PAYE, VAT, WHT, and Company Income Tax.

    • Prepare and support statutory audits, liaise with external auditors, and respond to regulatory authorities.

    • Maintain accurate records in line with Nigerian tax laws and financial regulations.

  • Payroll & Cost Control

    • Oversee payroll preparation and ensure accurate employee salary and statutory deductions.

    • Implement inventory and cost accounting procedures for production/manufacturing operations.

    • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational efficiency.

  • Strategic Financial Planning

    • Provide financial insights and recommendations to the Managing Director for strategic decision-making.

    • Develop financial forecasts and scenario models to support company expansion plans.

    • Participate in long-term business planning and risk management.

  • Leadership

    • Supervise a small finance team, providing mentorship and ensuring best practice in financial management.

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (production, operations, HR, admin) to align financial strategy with company objectives.

Educational & Professional Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Accountancy, Banking & Finance, or related field (required).

  • Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent (strong advantage).

  • 5 – 8 years post-NYSC experience in a similar role within a corporate, manufacturing, or production environment.

  • Strong working knowledge of ERP systems (preferably Odoo).

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other modern accounting tools.

  • Excellent understanding of Nigerian tax laws and financial reporting standards.

  • Proven leadership experience managing a small finance team.
